SUPER DOUBLES!

Sure tires a little boy out! Mason had had enough of hanging out at stores today!

We made a very quick trip to Rite Aid for a pkg of diapers. I am such a dork and only brought one of my Huggies coupons! Hello? What was I thinking. Don't worry, I am going back for more! Using a $2.50/1 Huggies coupon and previously earned Up rewards I paid $1.24 for a pkg of diapers!

Then we headed to Target. I had heard some great news about the Tag Reading System being only $5 after coupons. I also had a coupon good for $5/1 2. I was very excited about my purchases but because they are for Christmas gifts, I will leave it at that!
On to Ralphs. I had planned to make a trip Friday evening but just was not prepared. I spent the weekend cutting, sorting, organizing. On Sunday as I was busy putting my trips together, I was so DELIGHTED to see that Ralphs was offering SUPER DOUBLES!

Mason is teething and has a cold and was a total PILL. But I still managed to bring a total of $287 down to $64! It was so much fun and I am not done yet. This is just the "so far" picture!

For the shame...

See that BEAUTIFUL coupon file? Bursting at the seams with coupons just BEGGING to be used?
The POOR thing has been collecting DUST! :(

The last few weeks before my husband deployed, I tried to spend as much time with him as I could. Grocery shopping just wasn't a priority!

Then my inlaws came for a week, and I didn't really have time between various activities.

Then well...I was really behind! I had stacks of coupons to organize, stacks that had expired, inserts to cut out...well it took me FOREVER to get back!

After that my only excuse is the BUSYNESS of being a "semi-single" Mom!

However, even my kids have noticed that the freezers are a little less full. No stacking of groceries have been going on...

With Thanksgiving coming up fast, I need to get in on all the good deals! Cream of ____ soups, gravy, potatoes, baking items, turkey...

It's time to get back in the saddle, my grocery $$'s just have not been going as far!

Hitting Ralph's tonight and will be back with my results! (:

a very late What's for Lunch

(Ivan's lunch bag. He has a Sassy box in the back with his snack and a rectangular box that I got from Ikea in the front. The fork is also from Ikea.) (I know, I know not the worlds healthiest lunch. I was almost completely out of produce! So there are cheeto's, fruit snacks, a slice of banana bread, mandarin oranges, 2 cresant dogs with ketchup packets)

(snack is applesauce with orange and yellow sprinkles, teddy grahams, fruit snacks)

Even though it is almost dinner time, I am just now getting around to posting my kiddos lunch!
This past week was crazy, so this is not the best lunch ever. I did some grocery shopping though so they will look better next time. But for now, head on over to BentoLunch for inspiring and fun bento lunches!

Faith Deployed

As many of you know, my husband is currently serving in Afghanistan. We have made it through 1 week with over 29 more to go!

He is very busy and is hardly sleeping. The lines for the galley are long. The comforts of home are seriously lacking.

I am so, so, proud of him. He works so hard and sacrifices for our country.

While he works hard over there, I am here. Being a military wife is one of the hardest jobs you could ever love. I just got an email from a fellow military wife, and she said, " I feel so lonely. Sometimes I would rather be on the front lines than fighting the war at home."

Over at Cooking With Libby, there is a giveaway for military spouses, to win the book Faith Deployed. I would love to win this. We at home need all the encouragement we can get.

If you are a military spouse, and are interested in this book, you can head over and enter yourself. Or you don't have to and then my chances of winning are better! (wink*wink)

As we celebrate Veterans Day tomorrow, I hope that you will keep not only our service members, but their families in your prayers!

Menu Plan Monday

Although I didn't follow my menu EXACTLY last week, I did do better than what I had been doing. So I will be counting that as a success. (:

Here is what we will be eating at my house this week:

Monday: chili pie casserole

Tuesday:pancakes

Wednesday:spaghetti

Thursday: soup & sandwiches

Friday:kids are at a pizza party

Saturday: hot dogs,caramel apple salad

Sunday:leftovers/ choose your own

With my husband being gone, dinners are just a little different around here. But they are workin' for us! For lots of other menu items you can head over to Org Junkie!

Good Monday Morning! I am hoppin' over at Be One Fine Day! Come on over and join in the fun!

I swear I rotated this picture!! :(

"Yum, can we have these every night?!"
Have you ever seen a recipe and just KNEW you had to make it?

This one falls under that category!

My kids loved these!

Ethan asked me, " can we have these every time it is pizza night?!" He even asked if he could have the leftovers for lunch!

I found this recipe at Tidy Mom
