My Answers:

1) Oh that is soooo hard! But I have such good memories of watching this with all my siblings growing up...BACK TO THE FUTURE!

2) Almost always. Never in a school zone, and never on base. Anywhere else is free game! I have only been pulled over twice for speeding though. Knock on wood! (and my bff in high school...her Dad was the chief of police!)

3)Rats. Mice. Gerbals. Hamsters. Guinea pigs. Anything rodent like. I was not a big fan of the movie Ratatouille no matter how cute Disney made it. Ugh.

4) Anything sweet! Milk and cookies probably!

5) OK this is a tough one also. I don't like cats. I would rather be a dog but not a mean dog. So a fluffy dog?!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Weather in my neck of the woods: I can't believe it! It is chilly! Rainy, cloudy and cold!

Things that make me happy: family movie nights spent snuggling on the couch

Books I am reading: lol, I kept seeing the Sookie Stackhouse series everywhere so I am reading one of those

What is on my tv today: catching up on my DVR: Sandras Money Saving Meals, Mad Hungry...

On the menu for dinner: chicken pot pie

On my to do list: today is my moderate clean day and working on my grocery trips for this week

New Recipe I want to try/have tried: Homemade Mint Oreos

In the craft basket: the kids are decorating Halloween trick or treat bags tonight. The buckets just take up too much room when it comes time to put it all away. So we ar going to make bags instead!

Looking forward to this week: spending family time together this Saturday

Menu Plan Monday

When it comes to menu planning, the best place to start is in our own house right?

Because I coupon, my pantry, freezers etc. are all full. So here is my nice budget friendly (using what I already have!!) menu for this week:

Monday:

B-fast: muffins & smoothies

Dinner: chicken pot pie, fruit salad

Tuesday:

B-fast: breakfast sandwiches, juice

Dinner: roast, potatoes, carrots, green salad, rolls

Wednesday:

B-fast: cereal, leftover muffins

Dinner: tacos, spanish rice, corn

Thursday:

B-fast:leftovers or cereal

Dinner: baked ziti, green beans, leftover rolls

Friday:

B-fast: cinnamon rolls, scrambeled eggs

Dinner: soup & sandwiches

Saturday:

B-fast: egg, ham, potato breakfast casserole

L: we are headed to the zoo so we are going to have a picnic! Sub sandwiches, chips, fruit, choc. chip cookies, drink

Dinner: probably leftovers or something easy since we will be gone during the day!

Sweet Sundays

(I tinted the filling green but it doesn't show up, sorry!)

"Hey honey, remember those Homemade Oreos I made?"

"Yep."

" I was thinking about making some but with mint filling."

" I could get behind that." He is so supportive isn't he?!

I made them using the recipe for Homemade Oreos on Mommys Kitchen site. We prefer the cream cheese filling over the vanilla. But I added some mint flavoring. Yummo! I love anything mint so these were perfect. (:

It has been a tad chilly lately, so we didn't have the a/c on. Well...having a warm house + warm cookies= melted mint filling! ugh. I stuck them in the freezer and they were fine. Messy, but yummy!

Beyblade-Let it Rip!

How cute is that sticker? I got to host my first HOUSE PARTY! House Party is a great company that provides you with everything you need to have a great party. Different companies provide the "goods" and you get to host. Fun Fun!

I have signed up for a few but didn't get them. So I was ECSTATIC to be chosen to host a Beyblade-Let it Rip party. All goodies were provided by Hasboro and House Party.

We were so excited when our box came full of fun toys, posters, cd's...too bad we had to wait a while!

The kids had a great time racing their Beyblade tops and having a competition! It was so cute to hear them say "1,2,3 Let it Rip!" and then letting them go. We were provided with a black plastic stadium and they competed against each other. We were verrrry relaxed about it so no one got to upset! (:

It was a fun day and I can see a lot more Beyblade races in our future!

Homework boxes

I would like to apologize now for the high quality pictures in this post! LOL

Every afternoon, my kids groan when I announce that it is homework time! Then the questions begin...

**Where is my pencil? This one isn't sharpened!

**Who took the glue stick? I need it for my project.

**Mom, I can't find my crayons!

Does this happen to you?

I took some unused rectangle Ziploc containers and turned them into homework boxes.

Each school age child has their own.

For my 3 boys, who are in Elementary school, there boxes include:pencils, crayons, glue stick, scissors, eraser, pencil sharpener.

My daughter requires a bit more. Hers includes all the same items as the boys and a calculator, ruler, highlighters, pens and extra paper.

They are all labeled with each child's name so they can grab their own box.

It has made homework time much less painful (: At least for me!

It is also nice for when Dad is in charge and may not know where something is!
