simplify

I have been in CA for almost a year now. Hard to believe, this year has just flown by!

When I got here, I spent a lot of time building up my stockpile. Alot. So much so that it annoyed my husband just a touch (:

My husband left on his deployment in November. To keep myself from going insane, I kept busy. And I mean busy.

I jumped at every deal and seriously spent a lot of time at the store.

Now...life is crazy and so I am looking at a way to simplify.

I love my 6th child, I mean my binder. But all of the clipping, sorting, and filing is a lot of work. And so because I am TIRED, I am going with a simpler method.

There are basically three methods of coupon clipping.
1.) an accordian file
2)the binder method
and then there is the NO CLIP METHOD

Basically, you file your inserts by date and type. For example, SS 5/1 (Smart Source May 1st)

You don't cut them out. At least not until they are needed.

Another way to simplify, is by having someone else do the work for you! Coupon Mom, Money Saving Mom, Krazy Coupon Lady and The Grocery Game are all great sites that offer a list of good deals by store. So I will look at one of those sites, match up with coupons. Well, all of these sites put THE DATE & INSERT next to the coupon so you know where to find it.

So I go to one of those sites, match items and then CLIP JUST WHAT I NEED for each store. It makes it a lot faster and easier to get just what you want.

The downside with this is when , you go to the store and buy unplanned purchases, or come across an unadvertised sale. Now of course you can always go back for those items, but we don't always have the time.

I will never stop using coupons. EVER. But right now, I just need to go with a little simpler way of doing it. Of course I could change my mind tomorrow but...

I'm so glad you posted this! I am just starting to get into couponing...I think this method might be a better starting point for me. I have the binder & all that stuff~ but that's as far as I've gotten. This seems so much simpler! Thank you!

I am so glad! I know it can be overwhelming when you are getting started. This is a great system and works well! Good luck!
