Freezer Cooking
Oh the shame...I have a confession. This week my family consumed two, count them, two "McDinners". Ugh! I can't believe how much it cost me,and I make my kids eat off the dollar menu!!
After throwing away my weight in uneaten french fries, I knew something must be done.
So I headed to the freezer. I pulled out a bag of marinated chicken thighs (teriyaki), and some brocoli. I did end up grabbing some pasta roni, teriyaki flavored out of the pantry. And some yummy french bread. And guess what?
****I didn't throw anything away!! The meal was dEvOuREd!****
I felt so much better giving my kids good, healthy (somewhat!!) food and it didn't take any more time than it did to stop at a drive thru. So guess what?
This week I am taking the plunge. A 2 week plan. Oh gracious. I am excited but a little nervous. I will keep you all posted!

So, what is your 2 week plan? To not eat out for 2 weeks? We used to eat out all the time but when I gave my kids a choice between fast food or homecooked adn they chose homecooked, I knew right then we had to change! When I was a kid, we didn't eat out a lot so going to McDonalds was such a treat. Now, my kids and Gary and myself get much healthier meals, spend more time as a family and save money because we only eat out twice a month, usually lunch while in Portland grocery shopping. Good luck! :)
OK, sorry! I didn't say it very well. My two week plan is to cook freezer meals for 2 weeks. On Saturday, I am going to make 2 weeks worth of meals in one day. I have always done little bits of freezer cooking, never just one big day. So Saturday is the day. I am excited to try it and stay out of the drive thru!! (:
Gotcha! I haven't done any freezer cooking yet. I have to get stocked up on stuff first. What are your favorite freezer meals to make/freeze?
